Here’s O’Donnell’s anti-Coons ad that motivated me:
Here’s my ad:
Yes, I don’t have the time or budget of a foreign sponsored campaign, but I think I did okay scaring the public by making up facts and lying about O’Donnell like Republicans have done in their foreign backed Chamber of Commerce funded ad http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2010/10/05-4.

Daily Show on Negative ads
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-april-1-2004/indecision-2004—negative-ads
Some of their favorite targets include “Jack Conway, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Jerry Brown, Rep. Joe Sestak (D-PA), and Rep. Tom Perriello”. (link)
It’s same old brand of lying, using the standard fear of “liberals” and “taxes” and lies, like this ad against Joe Sestak using the lie “stop the government take over of health care”. There wasn’t even a public option, let alone a government take over. We will see if the lies work this time like they have in the past.
The Willie Horton ad against Michael Dukakis comes to mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io9KMSSEZ0Y
The point of that ad is that Dukakis was responsible for what the prisons did, when actually, he wasn’t. He didn’t order him released. The ad inferred it was Dukasis’s fault. But people believed it because it tapped into the idea that Democrats are weak on crime and Republicans are strong on crime. I have yet to see data to prove that.
Okay, one stupid Democratic ad here: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/5371431/ugly_campaign_ads_turn_uglier/
I could go on about misleading and lying ads, and I am sure some will say that Democrats do it. In terms of the fear mongering ads, the Republicans win the prize. Please post more examples if you find them, and I want to see and equivalent number of Democratic smear ads to prove me wrong. I found one, now it’s your turn.
